Sustainability | Our Philosophy
Sustainability is not a trendy concept for us. It is a foundation. It guides our choices, our way of cultivating the vine, producing our wines, and thinking about the future of the estate. At Château de Malherbes, we are convinced that a great wine can only be born from a living, balanced, and respected ecosystem. Our role is not to constrain nature, but to observe it, understand it, and work with it, in a constant dialogue.
Biodiversity
Sustainable agriculture
For us, sustainability is not a constraint, but a way of being. It guides each of our choices, from the vineyard to the cellar, in a constant search for balance between respect for life, quality demands, and transmission. These four principles summarize our vision and our daily commitment.
Sustainability
Yes, our approach is certified HVE level 4 (High Environmental Value), ensuring responsible practices in terms of biodiversity, water management, and input reduction.
Each domain must choose the path that best suits its terroir and philosophy. We have opted for a reasoned, flexible approach tailored to our climatic conditions, allowing us to intervene only when necessary.
We naturally welcome a rich local wildlife: deer, hares, birds, insects, bats, as well as horses. We also install birdhouses and plant trees to promote these balances.
